Back in Feb, I was invited to the Mount Nelson Hotel to test out Cycology's electric bikes. It was really fun to try them out but I'm going to be straight up with you… At R950 per hour (for a tour from the Mount Nelson) it's not really a suitable activity for locals. That being said, it is a lovely way for those with dollars and pounds to explore Cape Town without having to pedal too hard or go as far as a bike/scooter. You can hire a bike on your ace for R150/hour though so it's a bit more accessible. It would also be rather splendid to own an electric bike. The futcha!

They are incredibly easy to use.

Despite being able to get up to very fun speeds through Company Gardens, we must stop for picture-taking. That's Misha up ahead, doing the same thing I'm doing.

A little treat was waiting for us at the end. I love the Mount Nelson on beautiful Summer evenings. I also love bubbly.

If you'd like to find out more about Cycology (tours, corporate trips, buying a bike even), find their website here. It's all very bespoke and cool.

Oh and one more thing...

This is just a little something I took along the way. I love the Land Bank building, especially on the inside.

  1. Looks like you had fun. I'm not much of a bike rider and the last time I was on a quad bike (very recently) I ended up in a hospital ... in the Czech Republic ! So I'm sticking to walking and driving. LOL
